Word2000 won't display HDD docs

Greetings - first post here. I click on any document I have
created and Word2000 opens but does not open the doc.
It will open docs that I find online, however. I working on this
for 2 months but cannot figure out what I need to do. Thanks

Try reregistering Word in Windows by using Start, Run and typing in

winword /r

and pressing OK. Nothing will appear to happen but Word will register
itself.

That opened up the Install type of progress window for Off2000Prem, ran a
bit and then vanished. Now I can open up my docs.
Where do I mail the chocolate kisses? 8->
