Word2002 as Email editor for Outlook2002

I was experiencing problems using Word2002 as my Email editor for
Outlook2002 (both from Office XP) as per my posts reproduced below. As
mysteriously the problem started; it has equally mysteriously disappeared.
Go figure!! Wish I could help others who reported similar problems, but I
can't because I don't know why the problem appeared and disappeared.

I'm having the same problem described by "Selvaraj". A search in this
newsgroup for the last few days turned up 7 posts concerning problems using
Word2002 as the Outlook editor. Could you please provide more details on
how to go about your suggestion to "Do a repair on Office and etc...."
Thanks.

after update

I'm experiencing the same problem except that I don't get any error
messages. When I click "new" to create a new message, it takes some time,
with "Using Word as Editor" or some thing similar being displayed when it
used to be almost instantaneous for the new screen to be launch. When I
click to "reply" to a message, it just hangs.

I'm using Windows XP SP-1; Office XP SP-3. (that means Word2002 SP-3 and
Outlook2002 SP-3 so there should be no compatibility issue, at least they
used to be.) The only new thing that I've done to my system is that I
installed Norton Antivirus 2004 recently. Any ideas before I try the
re-install/fix etc.? Thanks.
