Word2003 fails to open subdocuments

I have a master document 13 pages long, when I first open it, it looks fine I
can scroll to the bottom and see all pages. If I then open all subdocuments
and switch back to print view I can only see one page of text and the top
half of a blank page, if I scroll down the document I get flirted back to the
top of the first page. To make this problem stranger if I open the same
document on a different computer everything seems fine.
Any ideas whats wrong with this computer?? I don't think I changed any
setting before word broke.
