I run a VB6 program that inserts values at bookmarks
placed in unprotected sections of a Word2000 document.
Works fine, as expected, if user is running Word2000.
However, switch to Word2003 and it DOESN'T WORK.
Produces a 'document locked' message.
When I protect the document 'for forms (by sections)'in
Word2003, I can't get the bookmarks to work at all unless
I protect 'for comments', and that prevents Word2000
users from using it.
Any ideas? I would really like to keep the bookmarks and
avoid changing the VB6 code which would necessitate an
upgrade. Why isn't it possible in 2003 to protect part
of the document by section and the rest for comments?
