word97 issue

Has anyone seen this issue?

when a user tries to open a document in word 97 the
association icon does not appear. But it DOES in windows
just not when they are trying to do a "file/open" from
word97.
Weird

Any help would be appreciated.

I'm sorry, I don't understand the question. What do you
mean by "association icon" and where should it be
appearing? Which version of Windows is this?

You might find the word.setup.networking a better group to
be asking this in, BTW.
