Let me admit up front that I absolutely hate OpenOffice and think its
interface bites. However, I think it was a mistake that Microsoft made its
XML format proprietary rather than standard. I know why they did this, but
now that I have a half dozen clients using OOo, I can't exchange documents
with them using XML, instead, we're doing the .doc filter shuffle.
Just an annoyance, esp. since if someone were to write a file format filter
for WordML, they would be sued according to the EULA.
