Wordpad Application error

Hey guys, hopefully someone can help me out.
I've never had this problem and I'm completely stuck :(

I just noticed today that whenever I open a wordpad document (or even go to
wordpad.exe) I get a message that says: "WORDPAD.EXE APPLICATION ERROR" then
goes on to say "The instruction at 'xxxxxxxxx' referenced memory at
'xxxxxxxx'. The memory could not be 'written'. Click ok to terminate the
program, click on cancel to debug the program".

I left the "xxxxxx" in there because I'm not sure if it's something I should
be revealing to anyone, but if it's needed for further investigation, let me
know and I'll say the codes it says.

No matter the option I choose I'm not able to open a wordpad file. I can
open that RTF file in Word, but I need to use wordpad for little quick things
and notepad just doesn't get it done for me.

Is it something I erased or can be fixed?

Please someone help :-( Thank you in advance!

Wordpad isn't an Office applicatioln. It's part of Windows. Try posting your
question, with the missing number (they aren't something that could get you
hacked) in the appicable Windows OS newsgroup.

Y'know, wordpad isn't part of the Office suite, so I wonder if a repair of
Windows would take care of it for you.

Thanks guys and gal :) I just decided to system restore last night assuming
it was something I deleted through a spyware program (spybot) and yup, it
sure was. I don't know what it was that I did, but whatever was done is now
fixed. Thanks for your help!
