WordPad error message when inserting objects

I get a "Failed to create object. Make sure the
application is entered in the system registry" when I try
to insert an object (jpg or gif) into Microsoft WordPad
Version 5.l *Build 2600 xpsp2.030422-1633: Service Pack
1). My OS is WINXP home edition. Can anyone out there
tell me how to fix this????

This is a question for a Windows NG, but I don't believe WordPad supports
graphics; it is text only.

Actually, WordPad does allow jpg and gifs to be inserted
and was working just fine until a couple days ago. Now I
cannot insert graphics.......just get that darned error
message.

Anyhow, thanks for the reply. Will try a Windows NG.
