I am having problems with Office 2003

I cannot open more that one file at once if I try to open 5 files they open in WordPad. I have to right-click and select Word. There is another selection there called WordPad MFC Application, whatever that is. Whenever I try to save a document this error comes up it usually has a different summary or number under number of times used. I am running XP Pro & Microsoft Office Professional edition 2003

Microsoft Office Word

Some of the features in this document aren’t supported by Microsoft Word 97 Summary: Text color will become the nearest supported color.

Number Of Times Used: 11

Thanks for any help you can offer it would be great to be able to open more than one file at a time and open in Word. Maybe Open Office is the answer.

First off, re-register Word which will resolve one problem. See
http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/AppErrors/ReRegisterWord.htm

You must have set Word 2003 to save documents in format for legacy versions
which is why you are getting text colour warning (Office 2003 supports more
colours than previous versions and will be lost if you save in a previous
version format).

Finally, you need activate your version of Word 2003 with Microsoft or you
only have a trial version installed as your message clearly states you have
used it 11 times (out of a permitted 50 uses).
