Wordperfect Conversion

Hi, we are switching from Wordperfect 10 to Word 2000/2003. I tried using
Word to open the Wordperfect documents but I get an error saying that it
isn't a valid file. When I try to save the docs in Wordperfect as a Word
file, I get the same error. This happens in both 2000 and 2003 versions.
Any idea why?

Thanks!

IIRC the Wordperfect Converter is an option at install. Grab an Office CD and
run setup. There's an Add/Remove Option where you can add the converter.

Hi Karen,

To add to John's reply. The import converter from WordPerfect (v6 and up) is an optional install through add/remove Programs in the
Windows Control Panel choosing the Microsoft Office 2003 or Microsoft Word 2003 choice listed there.

For exporting to Wordperfect, Wordperfect can open Word .DOC files or Word .RTF files. The highest Word format for saving to
Wordperfect was in Wordperfect 5.x format and that capability was no longer included in the Word/Office 2003 product.
You can save in Wordperfect 5.1 from Word 2000 with the optional converters installed.
