WordPerfect converter

Microsoft provides a WordPerfect converter which runs
under Office 2002. It retains all the for small
documents (under 500 kb) just fine. When I open a
WordPerfect document over 1Mb in size, it has issues with
the formatting and rearranges text, tables, etc.

Does anyone know if this is a known issue? Is there
something else I can do to work with WordPerfect
documents while using Word?

I installed the OCONVPCK.EXE but it has not helped.

Thanks

Hi Wes,

The Wordperfect converters are fairly old and there
are some feature limitations
http://word.mvps.org/faqs/general/WordPerfectConverters.htm
but the size of the document usually doesn't cause issues.

You may want to check the information here to see if you're
running into any of the items listed here.

Is the Wordperfect document corrupted perhaps?
Can you save it from Wordperfect into RTF or DOC format?

Thanks for the info. It appears I am "Hosed" until I
purchase a 3rd party converter. Long Live Microsoft -

Perhaps you can output from Word Perfect is some more neutral format,
e.g. RTF, HTML or something, then import into Word. The best approach
may be to just not use Word if using Word Perfect files is so important.
Cross-formatting between the two has never been completely perfect.

Hope this is useful to you. Let us know.
