WordPerfect

Anyone know how I can open a Windows WordPerfect file in Word X? Previous
versions had filters, Word X seems not to have a WordPerfect filter.

Hi Blair,

Your best bet is DataViz's MacLinkPlus Deluxe.

As for why there's no longer a filter in Word itself, here's an explanation
from a previous post by John McGhie:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The real reason it is missing is that there is no way to get it to work
properly. Microsoft was losing money on all the support calls.
They tried very hard, but the difference between WordPerfect and Word is a
paradigm, not just an approach. The "converter" got bigger and bigger, and
still there were WP documents that would not convert properly.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Hope this helps.

The WordPerfect converter was on my Office v.X CD. I thought it seemed a
little involved setting it up...

MacLink Plus Deluxe is probably your best bet.
