Is there a way to open WordPerfect (wpd) files in Word 08?

Additional to MC's reply, if you can get the files to a PC running
[preferably] Word 2000 or 2003 you may be able to open the files there &
save in Word format. It depends on what version of WP format they are but
the PC version of Office still has the filters because WP is still a viable
product on the Windows OS.
