:-(

Now, every time I try to open Word 2002, the app tries to install a feature.
Eventualy a prompt box appears asking me for the file Wordret.msi.

I cannot find it anywhere.

My laptop came with XP and Office preloaded so I dont have an installation
disk.

Now word is competely unuseable.

The only things I can think it would be are:

Instaling McAfee AV software

and Advanced Network service patch

I need help !!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks

The OEM must provide you with the installation disks for Office XP.
These are required to install updates from Microsoft. You should
contact the manufacturer you purchased the computer from and request
they be sent to you.

Once you obtain the installation CDs then to correct the problem
(caused by how the manufacture installed Office) you will need to zap
the Windows Installer entry in the Registry and reinstall Office.

Obtain the following utility and use it to remove only the reference
to Office. Once that is complete then you'll need to reinstall Office
to point the Windows Installer to your installation CD:

MS Installer Cleanup utility for Office XP:
