Words 2007 always crashes ..

Hi,

No matter how I uninstall and reinstall MS Office 2007, Words keeps crashing
after exiting. All other Office components (Outlook, Excel) work just fine.
Besides, whenever I open a doc file, Words is launched with an empty
content. I almost run out of any means. Could somebody help me out?
Thanks in advance.

By the way, I am using a Vista machine.

Any chance you have an HP printer set as your default printer?

Hi JoAnn,

Since it's a new Vista machine. It seems that no default printer is set.
So I add a Cannon printer and then set it as default. The same problem is
still existent.

There is no error messages. Maybe I need to apply service pack.

Thank you all for your help and concerns. By changing registry as shown
below, the problem is resolved. Thank you all.

Start...Run... type in regedit

Then follow the path HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/Microsoft/Office/12.0/Word

Then change the folder called 'data' to 'olddata'
Then change the folder called 'options' to 'oldoptions'
