Word 2002's and 2003's Comments pane uses an unstable interface that causes
the comments to vanish, the zoom size to change for no apparent reason, the
comments to jump around to all parts of the Reviewing pane, and the "This
modification is not allowed because the document is locked for editing"
message to appear and disappear in the middle of typing a comment so that
parts of the comment are missing (The document isn't locked, and if it were,
it wouldn't allow editing 95% of the time as this problem does). In Word XP,
sometimes every letter I type comes out in triplicate or more. This has
happened to me on no less than five different computers. I have a workaround
that usually works, but it sometimes causes Word to crash. The Word 97
interface is very stable, and my workaround replicates the Word 97 interface.
I tried out the Word 2007 beta on someone's computer, and it has the same
terrible Comments feature interface as Word 2003. Please don't release Word
2007 with this crap. And because this is a major bug, you should issue a
patch to fix this on XP and 2003 (I haven't tried it on 2000).
