words crashes after a few sec

After i installed all the updates on Microsoft Word 2003, i began to
have this wierd problem. When i open certain documents using microsoft
word, they stay open for a few seconds and then word closes. No matter
how many times i try i get the same error while the same document works
on other computers.

This usually indicates corruption in normal.dot, registry entries, or some
other template or add-in. The first thing to try is starting Word in Safe
mode (hold down Ctrl as you start Word, then click Yes to safe mode). If the
problem doesn't occur in safe mode, it's generally one of the types of

well, Thank you. all i had to do was to run the detect and repair and
that took care of the problem
