Great! got response. I had both times new roman 12 and Ariel 10. This was
done by a typist, not me. So I unified whole document to Ariel 10. I also
set cells for whole document to vertical align center. I think it is now
better and I'm going to e mail new version to you.
Arial's not necessarily the best choice you can make. Try a more "recent"
one, maybe like "Verdana" (the new Excel standard font).
1) Please go over cell alignment and what that is all about. Do you think
my typist changed it from down to top. She will probably say she does not
even know what that is -- and I believe her --as I have never looked at
that either.
Someone did set it to "Top", as the standard is "Down". But I can understand
it is more readable in a document where you have several lines in one cell
to choose to set it to "Top". It's a matter of choice to be made. Each
setting has good and bad points.
2) why is my right margin twice as large as my left even though I set both
to zero?
Excel pushes the cells to the right margin. That's the default setting. If
you want to have it centered, you have to set it. In the "Page Setup..."
"Margins" tab, you'll find a "Center on page" area at bottom. Check the
"Horizontally" box, and your margins will be equal.
As it has already been pointed out, don't forget that your printer may have
some specific margin limitations, and you may have a fixed limit to your
margins. So you could have better results setting your margins to 1/2"
rather than 0.
