WORD's text disappeares

Blank Some times when I open one of my documents from my winXP’s “WORD”, it is empty. All the written content disappeared. the following prompt appears: “THE COMMAND YOU SELECTED IS NOT AVAILABLE FROM THIS SHORTCUT MENU”. How do I get the written text back

mate, you probably have document corruption. Exit Word. Right-click
the bad file and select NEW, not open. Maggie the document
(cuttenpaste all bar last para makr in each section to a new doc)
Save this new doc and use it instead.

My Word Spellbook contains a longer massage for corruption if needed.
