Words with hyperlinks disappeared with reinstallation

Victor, NYC

Hello.

I linked many words in a Word2001 (Mac) document to Web Pages, and it
worked fine.

I had to reinstall my Mac OS 9.2.2 after some severe problems from
scratch.

I had backed everything up previously.

When I finished reinstalling, and to my huge dismay, I opened my
heavily linked Word document, the words I had linked had disappeared.
Instead, the links were there in the open.

Can somebody, please, tell me which (maybe Word) System file holds
this memory and where (Preferences?), in order to retrieve it from my
back up copy and replace it in my PowerBook G3 (FireWire) laptop so as
to recover my laborious original layout?

Thank you.

I suspect that a simple Word>Preferences>View and Deselect "Field Codes"
will do what you want :) I think the document has opened with the content
of the code Word uses to create the hyperlink displayed, as well as the
text.
