availability from each resource is set from project started time until end
the project?how about if the resource begin work in midlle of the project.
can we set work availability for the resource in the time when they join of
the project

Thx

Work Availability has nothing to do with any individual project. In Project
Server, the Work Availability for each resource is calculated from January
1, 1984 to December 31, 2049. The system calculates the Work Availability
for each resource during each time period, minus any nonworking time defined
by the resource's calendar in the Enterprise Resource Pool. To see the Work
Availability for any resource, open a project, and apply the Resource Usage
view. Double-click anywhere in the timephased grid (yellow/white grid on
the right). In the Details Styles page, add the Work Availability field to
the list on the right and then click the OK button.

By the way, do any of these answers ever actually help you? I have answered
MANY of your questions, and you never respond to say if it helps, or even to
say thanks. You leave me wondering what's going on. So...did this help or
not? Let us know.

I'm sorry...
Thank u very much for your help till this time. It helps me ..because I'm an
beginner in MS Project Server

Oh I see for this problem. Because in my project that I'll do now, my
project manager would to know the calculation of work availability with this
problem. Like example :
The project : January, 1, 2007 - April, 30 2007
Resource X is joined in February, 1 , 2007.He is assigned to do some work at
February,1 2007 until February ,28, 2007
the work availability is calculate from when?
My project manager have assumption that work availability for resource X is
February, 1 2007 until April, 30 , 2007. Is it wrong ?

Thank'a lot for your respond and your help, Mr. Dale Howard :)
sorry if I have many questions..

Regards,
Dee

You and your manager are both wrong. Work availability is calculated as I
stated in my last message, from January 1, 1984 to December 31, 2049. It is
not calculated from the beginning to the end of any project. What I don't
understand at this point is what you are trying to accomplish or what kind
of information you expect to see about this resource. If you look at the
Resource Usage view, you can see the work currently assigned to the project.
Using the steps outlined in my last post, you can also look at Remaining
Availability, if that helps.
