Work Breakdown Structure (WBS)

Do I understand correctly that when you use a Work Breakdown Structure in Project 2002 Standard, it just sorts the tasks in that order and displays those codes if you include the column?
Is there a way to set up the hierarchy and include descriptions (names) for them the way you can for Custom Outline Fields?

Hello GJT,
No, MS Project generates the WBS index from the position of the activité in
the WBS, and not in the reverse order like somme others softwares like PSN
or Sure Track.
But it is so easy to move a task from one row to another with a simple drag
and drop...
