% Work Complete Changes nor Reflected in PWA

Rick

I'm changing the % Work Complete in Project Professional and then
republishing the plan via Publish All Information, but the changes are not
reflected in the Timesheet view in PWA.

o Using Republish Assignments does not resolve this either
o I know the republish is working to a certain extent because if I add a
new task, that shows up.
o Interestingly enough, the change to % Work Complete is properly reflected
in the Project Center views.

Anyone know why a change to % Work Complete in Project Professional would
not be reflect in the Timesheet view?

Rick --

I think you are missing one step. Do the following:

1. Open the project in question
2. Click Collaborate - Publish - Republish Assignments
3. Select the "Overwrite actual work entered by resources" option
4. Click OK

This will "push" the actuals you entered in the project plan to each user's
timesheet in PWA. Hope this helps.

Thanks, selecting the "Overwrite actual work entered by resources" option was
the key.

I see this option in the Republish window, but it's greyed out. Why would
this be?

The option is disabled if your organization is using Managed Time Periods in
Project Server 2003. Does that describe your environment?

Hi,

What if the "Overwrite actual work entered by resources" option is not
avilable? Is the a user rights Issue?

Cheers
Tom

Tom:

If your system is set to use managed time periods, it would explain your
difficulty. If it's going to be your practice to manage projects this way,
you should turn off this feature.
