% work Complete, % Complete

How do you prevent an update in one of the columns (% work complete) from
updating the other (% Complete) with the same vaule and vice versa. I want
differnet statuses reflected in each column and I cannot get to stop
reflecting the same??

The values will remain the same as long as the distribution of work is linear
with duration. In order for the numbers to be different, you need to load
the work differently. I assume you have a resource loaded schedule.

And that begs the question - what are you trying to measure with %Complete
and %Work complete. %Complete is a duration measure of completion.

Here's some additional information from the "HelP" that will further explain
Steve's Post. My post assumed the box as checked as this is the default.

If this check box is cleared, you must enter values in the Actual Work field
for resources in order to have an accurate picture of the actual work and
actual cost. By default, this check box is selected.

Whether this check box is selected or cleared, once a task is 100 percent
complete, work on assignments is also marked complete.
