Work complete Physical complete actual work

hi all,

% work comlete field is automaticly updating when team members fill their
own timesheet. Project manager doesnt want somethig which is automaticly
updated. On the other hand, for a task, team member can work more then planed
hours and it doesnt mean that that task is completed. Thats why, we want to
use physical complete field.

what should I do for this problem?

Thanks in advance,
best regards

Hi,

The best way to enter the task progress is to enter Actual Work (is you do
with the timesheet) then to reassess the Remaining Work. Let the software
calculate its % complete. The Physical Percent complete is only used to
recalculate the BCWP.

Hello Gérard,

Many Thanks for quick reply,

The problem is this;

Team member enter actual works by timesheet. However i just dont want
project server to calculate automaticly. How can I do this? if its not
possible; can task process evaluated by entering the % by the team member?
(at the same time they should continue using timesheet).

I realy need help!!!

Thanks in advance,

I have encountered the same problem as reported by MahirK. Will appreciate
input from a Product Manager at Microsoft Project or a MVP.

Presently, when the Actual Work exceeds planned Work, Project marks the task
complete and changes Work = Actual Work. In order to leave this task in the
incomplete status, my workaround is to extend Work to be more than Actual
Work, which is troublesome.

Cassandra,

We cannot see the posting from MahirK, so I cannot address those
issues as I cannot see the post.

Before apply actual data, you should save a baseline. The
baseline will store Baseline start, baseline work, baseline
finish, baseline cost, and baseline duration. As you start to
supply tracking data, you can supply actual work as well as
modify remaining work as needed. The baseline work will not be
changed and you can compare actual work to baseline work as well
as view work variance.

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.
