Work completed inconsistencies

When tracking a project in the Check Progress view, the % complete is not consistent with % complete as shown (correctly) in the Gantt view. Why the inconsistency?? What to do?

Hello Mary Ann,

Where did you find this Check Progress view : in MS Project or in PWA ?

Isn't it a costumed view ?

Check if the % Complete is the % in duration or the % Work Complete.

If the resource assignments are not spread evenly along the task, these two
% can be quite different.

Hi,
Do these tasks, that should have percent complete figures but are showing
0%, have any resource assigned ?

Hi -

I arrived at this view by using 'Track' in the Project Guide, then 'Check
the progress of the project'. %work completed is one of the columns I'm
using in the Gantt Chart. After invoking 'Check the progress' I realized
that this view was not reflecting some of the percentages of work completed
shown in the Gantt view. Majority of the % Work Completed was shown
accurately, however several tasks that should have percent complete figures
showed 0%.

Hi

I think you've hit on it. The tasks in question do not have resources assigned although are showing a % complete. When I enter resources and rerun it, % complete shows. Thank you -
