My project schedule is fixed duration and not effort driven. I've noticed for
a while that some tasks have a very high (2,000%...3,000%) units for
resources assigned to the task. I think I stumbled across the cause of the
high units.
I was looking at the Task Usage view and noticed that many of the resource
assignments for tasks had a work contour of contoured instead of flat. Upon
further research the task start and finish was different for these tasks than
start and finish in the assignment information. I suspect that the assignment
originally had start of 9/7 and finish of 9/14...I assigned a
resource....then I changed the finish of the assignment to 9/21....but the
assignment information for the resource assigned to the task still shows the
finish date as 9/14???
I have never noticed this before. Can someone tell me what I'm doing that is
causing a different in start/finish for the task and for the assignment?
What should I be doing to avoid this and keep the work contour flat unless I
specifically change it?
