work/duration

I assigned 4 hours of work to a resource over a 5 day period. MS divides the 4 hours over a 5 day period which i do not want to happen. I want the resource to know they have 5 days to complete the task, therefore they can work on it for 4 hours on one day or 1 hour a day...etc... Is there a setting where MS does not divide the hours over the duration

Hello Mac,
Once you assigned a resource on a task, you can switch to the Task Usage
view. There you are able to set the work load as you want

Hi,

My advice is to call it a 4 hours duration task, thus assigning the resource
at 100%. Project will propose a start date as soon as possible but you can
set a deadline and show "Latest Finish" - the task then has to be done
between Start and LKate Finish, and work is not split at all.
