Work fields - ODBC

edilvo

Hi...

I have tried to use MSProject 2000 by ODBC, because I need to integrate another system to it. When I fill, in msp_tasks, duration fields (task_dur, task_act_dur,...), it works well and shows the values correctly. But work fields (task_work, task_act_work,...) haven't, because MSProject changes the values that I filled in table.

Is this a parameter misunderstanding?

Thank you

edilvo,
I've never used ODBC but here is a thought. Project works in minutes. Is
it possible that you are entering the values in hours and Project is
treating them as minutes?

HI,

When writing to a database, you must be extremely careful what data you
enter. Everything you need to know is in the file:
prjdb.htm (pjdb.htm for Project 2003) in Project's 1033 folder.

This is a problem with entering data directly into the database. Project has
priorities when reading data and will calculate when data doesn't match.
Best thing is to save a new project with only 1 task and assignment to see
what project expects. Make absolutely sure you get the EXT_ flags set
correctly.

Hi Edlivo,

Welcome to this Microsoft Project newsgroup :)

I also know nothing of ODBC, but check you haven't a mismatch of calendars
as detailed in FAQ Item: 5. Default Working Hours.

FAQs, companion products and other useful Project information can be seen at
this web address: http://www.mvps.org/project/

Hope this helps - please let us know how you get on:)

Hi, Mike...

Thank you for the answer. Infortunatelly, the problem remains already...

If I find a solution (or workaround), I will post it here, don't worry...

Thank you, again...

Hi,

I've got exactly the same problem (but with PJ 2003). Please don't
forget to post the solution when you are successful. :)
