Work File Location

R

Ryan Avery

When a document is opened in Word, the Work File is
automatically created in the same location as the original
file. This is not ideal for environments that utilize
network drives, particularly over slow links. Is there
any way to force the Work File to be created on a local
drive?
(please note - changing the Default Working Folder does
NOT accomplish this)

Thanks~

If it isn't possible to specify where the file opens, is it possible to move the file (using a macro)? Would this cause problems within Word
