Work Flow Diagram

My boss is asking for a current work flow diagram for my
department - This is a blood bank. If he doesn't want a
diagram of each individual process, how can I create a
flow chart for a general flow of the department. He
wants this for space planning purposes, to optimize space
and flow in the department.

You are better off documenting the work flows as sequence diagrams.
