Hello,
I work with MSP2003.
I want to import activities, resources and assigments from a database to MS
Project for (bucket)planning and analysing resources. The format for
exchanging information between the database and MS Project is XML.
Importing tasks and resources works fine with a minimum of XML-lines. The
problem is with assigning the resources to the tasks.
The activities have a duration (and are set to type Fixed Duration) and I
want the hours work distributed over the tasks duration, not regarding the
resource being over- or underallocated. What happens now is that Project
calculates the duration of the resource as if the assigned <units> is 1. I do
not want the database having to calculate the value for assigned <units> for
this is what MSProject should do.
What settings (tasks, resources, assignments) should I use to get this right?
