Work Menu

I want to delete a document from the Work Menu. When I follow the directions in the Help Menu (hold down Apple + Option + Minus sign), the cursor does NOT turn into a black minus sign the way it is supposed to. I tried a work-around I found at this forum for the 2008 version of Word, but it didn't work either. I'd appreciate any suggestions!

You need to use the Customizing features to either add the RemoveMenuItem
[it may be ToolsRemoveMenuItem] command to a toolbar, Menu, or assign a
keystroke to it if you wish. The original keystroke was disabled because
there were far fewer users who took advantage of the Work menu than there
were who unintentionally removed menu items by accidentally keying the
keystroke :)

Thank you for your suggestion but I'm still lost. I spent about 15 minues searching and still can't find either of the commands you mentioned (I went to Tools-Customize-Customize Tools/Menus and scrolled through all the options but didn't see anything. Maybe I'm looking in the wrong place?

Update: The actual command name is: ToolsCustomizeRemoveMenuShortcut

And you need to select the All category in order to get to it.
