Work menu

Microsoft says you can remove items from the work menu by hitting z,
option and minus. That is supposed to turn the cursor into a minus sign.
But it does not work for me. What am I doing wrong?

Could you tell me specifically where the work menu is? In a standard
Word installation, the menu consists of File, Edit, View, Insert,
Format, Tools, Table, Window and Help.

Where are you having this difficulty?

The Work Menu (which I use daily) is between Windows and Help in Word X
for Mac.
Where are you having this difficulty?
When I pull down the Work Menu, one item in it is no longer accurate and
I wish to remove it, but I can't.

Hi Stephen,

I haven't seen this menu command before so I don't know if its because
its the Mac version or because its the Word X version. I believe that
someone has created a custom menu for you to use, it could be because
of an add-in or someone has customized the menu. Try this to remove
the offending menu command,

Right mouse click on the menu bar and select Customize
A dialog box should appear in the center of your screen, leave it open
Click onto the Work menu
Click and hold the menu item that doesn't work and drag it to
somewhere on your document and let go(this should remove the item from
the menu
Click close on the dialog box that appeared.

The menu item should now be gone

Let me know if it works or not

Thank you, Lynn, but all you gave me is for a PC, not a Mac. We don't
even have right click.
So, I'm sorry to say, it did not work.
