Work & Remaining Work across ALL projects? How to filter, part II

Hi!

I have reviewed the original thread of this title, and located the new
link to Project Server Experts FAQ "How do I view Resource Usage
information for only the active project in Microsoft Project
Professional?", located at:
http://www.projectserverexperts.com/Shared Documents/ViewResourceInformationForActiveProject.htm

My question is, is there another way to achieve the same result? I ask
because, although I have shared the info in the FAQ with PMs at my
company prior to today, I received the following question a couple of
hours ago:

"How do we filter/group a view of tasks/resources to see how many hours
are allocated to only the specific project that is open (instead of
using the Connect... dialog option)?"

I appreciate your time and responses!

I believe the Task Usage view shows the usage information for only the open
project. To view the same information in the Resource Usage view, you must
deselect the "Load summary resource assignments" option in the Connect to
Project Server dialog. There is no easier way than that. Hope this helps.

In the resource usage view display the Enterprise team member field the
filter on "Yes" values. This will exclude assignment rows from other
projects. However the summary line still includes these values. You
can get around this by defining a group which groups on Resource Name,
and checking Group assignments not resources. You can set up an
enterprise global view to do this.
