Work with pst equal than POP3

Hi,

someone knows if is it possible to download the mail to pst files but leave
a copy on the server? Similar than POP3...

I think the most similar function are OST files.

What type of account? If for an Exchange account, why would you want to use
a PST?

is for a exchange 2007 mailbox account.

Im not sure about the pourpose of that, my cx ask me and i'm not sure.
