Workgroup security

I've inherited an Access 2003 secure application with split app and
data database files. The 2 mdb files and the mdw file all sit on a
network share. I've got a login in the Admins group which works fine.
I tried to set up an Admins login for a colleague using Tools|Security|
User and Group Accounts. This also works fine -- ON MY MACHINE.
Unfortunately, the colleague, having joined the appropriate workgroup,
gets 'Not a valid account or password' when she tries to login on her
own machine using the account I set up. My login doesn't work on her
workstation either.

Can anyone shed any light on this bizarre state of affairs?

For one thing, each user should have their own copy of the front end, but I
don't think that's the problem here.

By what means does the user join the appropriate workgroup? It sounds as if
maybe there are two workgroup files with the same name. Try logging on as
the Admin user with no password.

Another possibility may be that the other user does not have necessary
permissions to the network folder.

Thanks for your response Bruce - see comments below.

Agreed, and agreed.

Ah bingo! My machine was still joined to a local MDW on C:\ while hers
pointed to the network drive.
Thanks again,

Dave
