We're using network based workgroup templates. Trouble is that a lot of the
documents we create based on these templates will also need to be openend
while the viewer is not connected to the network, or not even part of the
company.
Word then tries to look for the original network location, which takes far
too long. Users complain about the speed in which the can open documents
offline.
Is there some way to have Word store the layout within the .doc file itself,
without having to relate back to an orginal .dot template file ? (apart from
the normal.dot which is present on any system with Word installed).
Really all we want is the template to push the document design only once in
the beginning, but the relation to the workgroup template can be broken after
the first save. It has to detach from the template so to speak.
