I have recently taken over running the support department for a company and
today came across a stinker of a problem.
I had to replace a machine for a user when his old one failed and went to
reinstall his packages. When I installed Office 2003 Professional and tried
to activate it informed me that I was unable to do so as it had reached the
limit. Now I understand that I can use the telephone option and explain the
problem and get an activation code, but how can I be sure which CD was
originally used?
I don't want to get this activated and then find that it is being used
elsewhere and then Microsoft deactivate both copies!
And before anyone states the obvious - I know that the machine ID should
have been noted on each of the retail copies, but this is a situation I
inherited...
Thanks, Eddie
