Working Times - More then 5 in a day

Pirate Pete

I want to breakup the working times into small chunks to match a university's
class schedule to assign resources (i.e. instructors, rooms, and equipment).
However, i am only able to create 5 working times. I am looking to create up
to 10 in one day. Is there away to accomplish this?

Hi Pirate Pete,

Sorry, no. However an option would be to create separate calendars to
control the specific scheduling of classes. Then simply assign a task
calendar to the sessions. Please be aware that I would not recommend
Project for what you are suggesting as scheduling classes would not
normally be considered a project.

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.

Julie - Thank you for your help. I knew that Project wasn't the best for
what I am trying to accomplish, but I was hoping it could point out a
conflict in resources and/or help me schedule my resources up front. I will
keep looking.

You're welcome, Pete and thanks for the feedback. Project certainly can
show resource overallocation as well as other scheduling conflicts but I
think it would be challenging. You may be able to find a reasonably
priced product geared more toward schools and academic organizations.
If you decide to pursue using Project, feel free to drop back by here
and post questions as you need.

Hi Pirate Pete - Though, I agree with Julie that MS Project should not
be used for class room scheduling; it is not a project. In my
organization, for the purpose of scheduling we using MS Project for
class room scheduling. Before I respond, can you please elaborate what
you are trying to accomplish? -
