Hello,
I'm working with an Access back-end database and have linked to a SQL
file using the ODBC drivers. I'm using Access 2002 and SQL is
Microsoft SQL but I don't know the version.
I need to find out if the indexes that I see for the ODBC file are
local or are they the indexes used by SQL.
I'm trying to use the file in a query but if I just set the join
properties from my Access table (tblquality) to the ODBC file (itmfile)
on the product field, I can't edit the data in the tblquality. I have
to link from the product field of tblquality to the product field of
itmfile and to a filler field in itmfile.
(the query results don't show any data in the two fields that I can
included from itmfile but I think that's because of the PK having two
fields in it)
The primary key for the file (what I see in Access) shows that both the
product field and the filler field are used for the PK. I want to drop
the filler field from the PK and don't know if I can do that safely
(without messing up what SQL is using since itmfile is used by our
business software).
Thanks for all your help.
