Working with database

Hi All:

I have a small workgroup network and we use Access for our
db's. We have set up new PC on our workgroup and we are
trying to use it to access a db on a different PC. While
we are able to view the db, we get the default message
that this db is read only and changes will not be able to
be saved (which is okay), but when we try to work with the
db, we are unable to alter any of the dataset fields (we
get the error message saying that the dataset can not be
changed. We have gone into security/permission settings
and given full control over this copy of the db, but still
we are not able to do anything but view the db. By the
way, when we click on properties for this database, it
does not indicate that this is a read only file.

Any help would be appreciated
Mark

Mark:

What OS are you running on the DB-hosting PC? If NT,
WIN2K, or WINXP, the user will have to be added and
Security Rights established.
