Working with master projects from different computers

Hello,
I am working with a master project on my computer.
When I'm changing one of it's sub projects it changes the
master and vice versa.
My problem is that I want this method to work from
different computers, that means that the files will be
open in these computers and when one user will change one
of them it will change the other accordingly.
When I'm trying to do this, it opens one of the files in
read-only mode, so it's changes are'nt reflected in the
other file.
How can I accomplish that?

The Project desktop application for multiple users to open the project file
from a shared folder but only one user can have it read/write. As you've
discovered, other users get in read only. If you're viewing the
consolidation master file you have the option of how to open the sub-project
files, either read/write or read only, and there really isn't any workaround
to this behaviour short of going to Project Server.

It sounds like you're trying to use Project as some sort of real-time,
multi-user system. Why? Just guessing, it sounds like you have a structure
such as a PM Office handling multiple projects with maintenance of those
project plans delegated to various PM's. If so, most editing would be done
by the individual PMs using their subfiles, I would think, with the Master
file mostly for reporting and only used rarely for editing. So open the
Master with the sub-files read-only except for the rare occasions when
editing from that side is really necessary, leaving the individual files
able to be opened read/write by the people responsible for maintaining them.
When you do need to update them from the consolidation side, ask the users
of the sub-files to exit for a few minutes.
