I, and more importantly my boss, find Visio’s layers functionality
cumbersome. I’m trying to produce diagrams that show the interfaces between
systems, but to also show a progression over time as more interfaces are
built, hence more systems are linked. Visio’s layers is a good way of doing
this, with a layer for each phase in the project. However, my boss finds it
cumbersome to view a layer at a time. He needs to know how I’ve set my
diagram up and hence which layers to make visible at which time. Also, you
cannot name a page for each permutation with properties to describe the
page’s characteristics. I was wondering if there was a way to tie a set of
layers to a drawing page, so that you can have a master page with a full set
of layers, then a number of other pages, each showing a set of layers on it?
Cheers
