Working with scanned immages

Hello All

I am not sure if I'm using the right newsgrouop for this - if not I
apologies and would be grateful is someone could point me in the right
direction.

I am having problems getting scanned images (usually kids'
drawings/paintings etc.) printed in the size and position on the page that I
want. the scanner (an epson) opens something called Kodak Imaging, from
where I copy and paste the image into Word and then try to set the position
and size. Sometimes however, the image freezes when being copied, or the
image quality reduces - becomes grainy - when it is moved.

I would be extremely grateful if someone could suggest some cheap and
cheerful software that makes it easy to do this very simply task.

Have you tried scanning directly into Word?

Thanks for your reply - but how do you do that? I can't see any (obvious)
menu command to 'acquire' the image.
