Working with Word

Recently Office X Word has begun act oddly. I open a document and then a
second document. But the second document places itself behind the first.
And according to the list of docments in the window menu items, the
second documnet is the active one. I have deleted the Word preferences
but it didn't fix it. Any suggestions of how to fix this?

have you installed the 10.1.2, 10.1.4 and 10.1.5 updaters from Mactopia
