I just bought a laptop (box not opened) and it has Vista and Works 10
installed on it. Can I send files made in the word processor and
spreadsheets to other users who have Microsoft Office 2003 on their computers?

Can I open other Office files emailed to me?

Works and Office programs are compatible up to a point. If you *know* you
you are going to be dealing with Word docs and Excel spreadsheets, get
Office and be done with it. I can almost guarantee you that at some point,
issues will arise.
