Works 8.5 upgrading to Office 97 pro

I would like to upgrade works 8.5 to office 97 pro - have got both genuine CD's

When i put the office disk in, it states no acceptable product upgrade
program found.

I find this difficult as it clearly states on the office box that it will
upgrade works - can anyone help please
