Works on Outlook 2002 (XP) but not on Outlook 2003

2 email accounts on the Outlook profile:
1. Exchange - internal email only (no web presence)
2. POP3 - used for external email (internet)

I receive an email from the internet and reply to it without changing the
account. The account defaults to the POP3 since it is what it used to get
delivered. I then add Exchange addresses (internal only) in combination
with internet addresses and click send.

On Outlook XP: Everything is OK. The internet recipients get their email
and the internal Exchange users get their emails.
On Outlook 2003: The internet recipients get their email but the internal
Exchange users don't. I then get an undeliverable message coming from the
POP3 server saying that the addresses (Exchange internal) are not valid.
Error 550 5.1.2 - which makes perfect sense since the addresses are not live
on the web.

How do I fix this? Obviously, Outlook XP does not send the internal Exc
addresses to the POP3 server. While Outlook 2003 seem to just send all
emails to what ever account you are using for delivery.
Please HELP! Thanks in advanced!

I have never tried exactly what you're doing, but I'd be surprised at it
working at all....I didn't think any version of Outlook would permit you to
send a single message to both Internet and internal recipients via different
accounts/transports.

How exactly was this working before? Is there any difference in the account
settings between the versions here?

OT, but I'd suggest you think about consolidating all your mail handling on
Exchange, if at all possible. It's a lot more efficient. You don't mention
your version of Exchange, which makes a difference as to method...
