Works Spreadsheet

I have several Works Spreadsheet documents. I have Office 2000. I have a new
PC with XP Professional (no works). I was able to convert word documents but
can't convert these spreadsheets. I don't have access to run works to convert
and save as .xl*. to open in Excel. How can I convert thee three documents,
short of re-doing or buying Works. ???

Hi Ernie,

You may want to also use the link below to post this to the MS Works newsgroup. What version of Works did you use to create those
Works spreadsheets? Newer versions of Works produce Excel compatible sheets, older ones required a 3rd party converter.

I will also go to this link, thank you, I do not know what version they were
created with. I believe I started them in windows 95, then converted them to
ME, that is all I know.

I have reviewed the CD but I can't find anything about converters, I choose
the option to "repair" and reload missing data, but I still can't seem to get
these files to load in EXCEL.

A repair only repairs what was origonally installed. From recollection
convertors are not installed by default, they maybe under Tools on the cd,
but as I no longer use O2k I cannot check. They are deffinately somewhere on
the cd, youll have to expand all the options to check.

Did you post to the works ng for a response, including your works version?
Presumably you started Excel and selected Open, and File type Works in the
dropdown?
